Freetown, Sierra Leone | Barracks Coverted to Temporary City Hall

Nathan Thurber, our head of operations is in Freetown, Sierra Leone coordinating our first Gospel Festival of 2017. He visited City Hall to meet with Mayor Gibson who has been instrumental in getting permits and permissions for use of the National Stadium in February 2017. This video highlights the history of the current location of City Hall.

History Note:
During the Sierra Leone civil war, the city has was destroyed by rebels and burned. In the interim, City Hall has been set up in the old barracks where slaves were held when they were released from the boats, at the top of the stairs in my previous post. It’s a concrete barrack and they’ve added walls to make offices. Nathan’s video shows the areas where the slaves would have been housed before being set free.
